To further strengthen our commitment to quality, innovation, and mentorship, we’re looking for a highly experienced Senior Production & Internal Technical Specialist to play a key leadership role across project teams and technical systems within the practice. This hybrid role combines core architectural responsibilities with a broader studio-wide technical advisory function, ideal for a confident, detail-oriented professional who thrives on collaboration, innovation, and mentoring others.About the RoleIn addition to project-based architectural duties, this individual will:Provide expert technical input across multiple projects, beyond their assigned onesAttend coordination meetings (internal and external) to resolve technical challengesParticipate in key milestone workshops, offering technical critique and adviceReview detail drawings before presentation/issue where neededOffer on-demand support to juniors and peers facing technical challengesDedicate ±15–20% of their time to studio-wide technical initiatives, systems, and mentorshipContribute to developing internal resources like the Engineering Coordination Guide and LMS training materials for junior architectsLeadership & Team CollaborationCollaborate closely with Team Leaders on project coordination and program managementGuide architectural development and be accountable for design outputs and deadlinesBuild strong working relationships with clients, consultants, and contractorsDemonstrate leadership by fostering open communication, maintaining team morale, and supporting professional developmentTechnical ExpertiseDisplay deep technical aptitude across all project phases, from documentation to constructionProvide solutions aligned with regional regulations and building technologiesDrive implementation and refinement of internal systems and workflowsEngage with external suppliers to deepen product knowledge and enhance internal databasesGuide and mentor team members in coordination, technical detailing, and system understandingDesign ContributionInterpret briefs and support project teams through full architectural servicesProduce design documentation, including drawings, 3D models, renders, videos, and presentationsMaintain consistency and quality in design language and presentationStudio & Systems ContributionContribute to SAOTA’s internal knowledge-sharing platforms (e.g., Design Fridays)Lead and participate in the implementation of technical standards across the practiceEnsure project folders and documentation adhere to company systemsTrain others on SAOTA systems and emerging technologiesWhat We’re Looking ForQualifications & Experience:Architectural or Architectural Technologist qualificationMinimum of 8 years’ post-qualification experience, including leadership rolesAt least 2 years of working on multidisciplinary projects (locally or internationally)Essential Skills:High-level knowledge of Revit, Adobe Suite, Twinmotion, AutoCAD & LumionExcellent technical and design problem-solving abilityStrong communication and coordination skillsCalm under pressure and able to manage sensitive/confidential informationAble to travel when requiredConfident in presenting and articulating design decisionsBehavioural Attributes:Flexible, proactive, and accountableHigh level of professionalism and emotional intelligenceStrong mentorship mindset and team-oriented approachResilient and solutions-drivenWhy SAOTA?Work in a dynamic, globally respected design studioEngage in meaningful architectural innovation and thought leadershipCollaborate with world-class talent across disciplinesEnjoy flexible working arrangements and wellness initiativesContribute to a practice-shaping architecture on a global scaleReady to take your technical expertise to the next level and help shape the future of architecture at SAOTA?
