Responsibilities

~20–25 hrs/week | Latin America is a priority An established venture studio is hiring a senior marketer to build a marketing practice within its platform. It's not a full-time job or a single freelance assignment. Think of it as joining a professional partnership: you work alongside a team of experienced founders, operators, and executives to create real value inside venture-backed companies. This is a deliberately generalist, hands-on position: a broad, cross-channel skill set rather than deep expertise in one channel, happy shaping strategy and doing the work itself, writing, building, launching, and running campaigns, not just directing others. Why this is different You're not building a marketing function from zero, and you're not a lone consultant disappearing into an account. You join an existing growth platform: AI-first operators, embedded portfolio teams, Executives in Residence, and multi-exit Venture Partners. You add senior marketing judgment to it, and over time build a durable practice on a schedule that fits your life. How the model works The studio operates like a professional-services partnership, not a traditional company. Independent operators build a practice within it. In practice, that means: ● You take on paid client work with venture-backed companies, supported by a real team and platform rather than selling hours alone. ● You learn how the studio originates and expands engagements, and participate in that business development. ● Your economics combine cash for billable work, a share of business-development profit (up to 40%, depending on the arrangement), and potential equity tied to portfolio-company value creation. ● You keep the flexibility and autonomy of an independent operator, backed by a team. The hourly rate is competitive within an international model pairing global operators with U.S.-based executives, but it's only part of the proposition. The bigger opportunity is the platform itself: sophisticated collaborators and a pipeline of portfolio work. Your first 60 days We don't spread new operators across the portfolio on day one. You'll establish success with one portfolio company first. In your first ~60 days, you'll: ● Learn the studio's model, economics, and operating rhythm. ● Understand how business development works here, and begin participating in it. ● Build strong relationships with our growth team, portfolio operators, EIRs, Venture Partners, and founders. ● Embed with one portfolio company as a senior marketing resource, and learn its market, product, customers, and constraints. ● Identify the highest-leverage opportunities rather than reflexively rebuilding what already works. ● Work with the existing team to deliver a meaningful, measurable result. The result depends on the company: sharper positioning and messaging, a stronger go-to-market, a successful launch, a more qualified pipeline, better conversion, sharper customer insight, faster experimentation, or a clearer path to product-market fit. Prove value with one company, then grow your practice from there. Where this can go As you build trust and demonstrate impact, the role expands. You might work with additional portfolio companies, become a go-to marketing resource across the studio, help shape shared go-to-market playbooks, mentor growth operators, take a larger part in business development, and build a meaningful book of business, with equity participation where appropriate. As the practice grows, you may help recruit and develop other marketing talent. Who you are You're a marketing leader, likely with 10+ years of experience, though capability matters more than years, and a real track record of growing technology products. We're looking for most of the following: ● Meaningful experience marketing B2B software, SaaS, fintech, AI, or adjacent technology products. ● Direct experience marketing to the United States (essential); international and global-market experience is valuable. ● Time inside a high-growth startup or scale-up, for example taking a product from early traction toward scale (roughly seed to Series B/C), not just maintaining a mature corporate program. ● Agency, consultancy, or other multi-client experience: the ability to understand a business quickly, move between contexts, work with multiple founders, and scope pragmatically. Fractional-executive or independent-practice experience is a plus. ● Range across several areas rather than a single channel: positioning and messaging, go-to-market and launch strategy, product marketing, customer and market insight, demand generation and growth, content and thought leadership, lifecycle marketing, and analytics and experimentation. Hard skills & competencies Bring hands-on command of most of the areas below, the work itself, not just the strategy deck. We'll expect specifics and examples, so speak to these directly in your application. ● Positioning, messaging & narrative: build positioning frameworks and messaging hierarchies from customer and competitive research; define ICPs and personas; write value propositions and differentiated narratives for both technical and business buyers. ● Go-to-market & launch: own end-to-end GTM and product-launch plans, and produce the assets that go with them (one-pagers, pitch decks, battlecards, case studies), coordinating across product and sales. ● Demand generation & growth: plan and run paid programs across LinkedIn, Google, and Meta; ABM; SEO and content-led acquisition; landing pages and conversion-rate optimization; with budget and pipeline ownership. ● Product marketing: map the buyer journey and funnel, run competitive intelligence and win/loss analysis, and contribute to pricing and packaging. ● Content & thought leadership: write and edit long-form, web, and social content; repurpose across formats; ghostwrite for founders and executives. ● Lifecycle & marketing operations: design nurture, onboarding, and retention flows, and work hands-on with a marketing-automation/CRM stack (e.g., HubSpot, Marketo, Salesforce, Customer.io). ● Events: lead events end to end, webinars, field marketing, conference presence and sponsorships, executive roundtables, from concept and logistics through follow-up and pipeline attribution. ● Analytics & experimentation: define KPIs and build dashboards; work fluently with GA4 and attribution; run structured A/B tests; read a funnel and act on it. ● Marketing tech & web: own a website and CMS (e.g., Webflow, WordPress) and assemble a lean, modern martech stack. Bonus: PR & communications. Experience running or managing PR, media relations, analyst relations, or executive communications is a plus, but not required. AI-first marketing This is a requirement, not a buzzword. Our operators already work in an AI-enabled environment, so you should be able to show concretely how you use AI to sharpen research and customer insight, develop positioning and messaging, create and repurpose content, run campaigns and experiments, automate workflows, and improve execution speed, quality, and economics. How you work Our advantage comes from combining strong people, not deploying isolated consultants. The person who thrives here is: ● Highly collaborative: low ego, high competence. ● Comfortable working alongside people with deeper expertise in particular areas; eager to teach and equally eager to learn. ● Able to disagree constructively, and generous with knowledge, relationships, and ideas. ● A trusted advisor to founders, and a natural collaborator with growth operators already embedded in portfolio companies. ● Accountable for outcomes without needing a traditional management hierarchy. ● Energized by being part of a team of experienced founders, EIRs, Venture Partners, and operators. The working model ● Remote and international. Latin America is a priority talent market, particularly Mexico, Uruguay, Argentina, and similar markets with strong technology talent. ● Approximately 20–25 hours per week to start. This is intentionally a high-quality part-time opportunity: flexibility is a feature of the model, not a concession. ● Professional fluency in spoken and written English is required. ● Excellent asynchronous communication and genuine comfort collaborating across countries and time zones. We expect this to appeal especially to people who've already had substantial careers and want serious part-time work, not a conventional executive schedule: experienced parents, fractional leaders, boutique consultants, entrepreneurial marketers building their own practice. Already run a small consultancy? That's a positive signal, not a conflict. What this is, and what it isn't It's a senior, entrepreneurial, collaborative operator role inside an established venture-studio platform. It is not: ● a traditional full-time employee position ● a junior offshore execution role ● a solo fractional-CMO engagement ● a mandate to build a marketing department from scratch ● primarily a people-management job ● purely strategic advisory work with no execution accountability ● a single-client consulting assignment Thoughtful applications will get read carefully. We look forward to reviewing yours!
