EZ MD Solutions partners with medical practices across the United States to provide skilled Virtual Medical Assistants and Medical Scribes. We support primary care, specialty clinics, pediatrics, pain management, radiology, and more. Our team helps providers spend less time on admin and more time on patient care.
About the Role:
We're looking for experienced, fully bilingual Virtual Medical Assistants who can communicate confidently with patients and providers in both English and Spanish. You'll be placed with a U.S. medical practice and become a dedicated, remote part of their front- and back-office team.
Key Responsibilities:
Handle inbound and outbound patient calls in English and Spanish, including scheduling, rescheduling, confirmations, and reminders
Manage patient intake, demographics, and registration in the practice's EHR
Verify insurance eligibility and benefits, and assist with prior authorizations
Process referrals, medical records requests, and faxes
Respond to patient portal messages and route clinical questions to providers
Coordinate prescription refill requests per practice protocols
Support basic billing tasks such as copay collection, patient balance follow-up, and charge entry when needed
Maintain accurate, HIPAA-compliant documentation at all times
Requirements:
Native or near-native fluency in both English and Spanish (spoken and written)
Minimum 1–2 years of experience as a Virtual Medical Assistant, Medical Receptionist, or in a similar U.S. healthcare administrative role
Hands-on experience with at least one EHR/EMR system (e.g., eClinicalWorks, Epic, athenaHealth, AdvancedMD, NextGen, Practice Fusion)
Solid understanding of U.S. insurance (commercial, Medicare, Medicaid), eligibility checks, and prior authorizations
Knowledge of HIPAA and patient privacy standards
Reliable high-speed internet (minimum 50 Mbps), a backup connection, and a quiet, private workspace
A computer that meets our technical requirements, plus a noise-cancelling headset
Availability to work during U.S. business hours
Nice to Have:
Medical background (nursing, medical assistant certification, or medical degree)
Medical billing or coding experience
Familiarity with VoIP phone systems such as RingCentral or MightyCall
Experience supporting multiple providers or high-volume practices
