About The Position:Let’s Get Ready is seeking a strategic, relationship-driven, and execution-focused Vice President of Development to lead and evolve the organization’s fundraising function. This senior leader will be responsible for setting and executing a comprehensive development strategy that fuels LGR’s continued growth, strengthens existing funding streams, and builds a diversified, sustainable revenue pipeline.Reporting directly to the CEO, this role oversees all aspects of fundraising, including strategy development, donor cultivation, impact storytelling, campaign execution, and team leadership. The Vice President will play a critical role in aligning fundraising efforts with organizational priorities, clearly articulating LGR’s impact, and positioning the organization for long-term financial sustainability.LGR is seeking a strategic and execution-oriented VP of Development to lead and scale a multi-million dollar, national fundraising program.Reporting to the CEO, this role will:Own and drive annual and multi-year revenue strategyPersonally steward and close top-tier donor relationshipsBuild a diversified funding engine across individual, institutional, and corporate sourcesStrengthen systems, team structure, and fundraising infrastructureThis is a hands-on leadership role—ideal for someone who can set strategy and close gifts, while building a function that scales.Duties/ResponsibilitiesFundraising Strategy & Revenue GrowthSet and achieve ambitious annual and multi-year fundraising goalsDevelop and execute a comprehensive, data-informed fundraising strategyBuild a diversified revenue model across individual, corporate, and foundation givingIdentify and secure catalytic, multi-year funding opportunitiesExpand philanthropic support across geographies and new donor segmentsExplore and launch innovative campaigns (e.g., capital, endowment, and re-engagement initiatives)Donor Cultivation & StewardshipManage and grow a portfolio of major donors, including individuals giving $25,000+ annuallyBuild and maintain strong relationships with institutional funders and Board membersDevelop and implement thoughtful stewardship strategies to deepen donor engagement and retentionPartner with board leadership to strengthen fundraising participation and outcomesImpact Narration & CommunicationsLead the organization’s efforts to clearly and compellingly communicate its mission, impact, and funding needsDevelop high-quality materials and narratives for donor engagement, pitches, and campaignsTranslate impact into clear ROI for fundersTeam Leadership & Organizational AlignmentBuild, manage, and mentor a high-performing Development teamDesign and evolve the development function, including staffing structure, systems, and processesEnsure effective use of CRM (Salesforce or Raiser’s Edge) and fundraising analyticsPartner with Program, Finance, and Operations teams to align fundraising with organizational strategyImplement best practices in pipeline management, forecasting, and performance trackingLeadership & StrategyServe as a key organizational leader, contributing to short- and long-term strategic planningFoster a collaborative, inclusive, and mission-driven cultureRepresent LGR externally with credibility and passionEducation and ExperienceThis role is ideal for an experienced development leader who thrives in a dynamic, growth-oriented environment and is energized by both strategy and execution. The successful candidate will bring:Bachelor's degree or higherA deep commitment to educational equity and LGR’s missionExceptional communication skills, with the ability to clearly and persuasively articulate impact8+ years in nonprofit fundraising, including leadership experience, preferably in an entrepreneurial environmentDemonstrated success cultivating and closing six- and seven-figure giftsExperience managing and growing major donor portfoliosStrong track record of building or scaling a development function and a high-performing teamAbility to operate at both strategic and execution levelsPreferred:National fundraising experienceEducation / college access experience and networkExperience in high-growth or scaling organizationsLocation & Hours:This is a remote, full-time position that requires employees to be available for work and collaboration between standard work day hours (Eastern time).While this is a remote position, preference will be given to candidates located in the Northeast, particularly in New England and the Mid-Atlantic region. Candidates based in Connecticut, Maine, and New York are especially encouraged to apply. Given Let’s Get Ready’s organizational footprint, donor base, board engagement, and partnership network, proximity to key stakeholders is strongly preferred.Employees will be issued a work laptop and initial work-from-home stipend (see below).
