This is a rare opportunity to shape its technical foundation while making a significant impact on patients, clinicians, and researchers.The OpportunityWe're looking for a Staff Software Engineer to be a core member of our Product Engineering team—writing code every day while driving architecture decisions, mentoring senior engineers, and partnering with Product and Clinical teams to build software that directly improves patient outcomes.What You'll DoOwn and drive architecture decisions across our stack, setting patterns the whole team builds onLead complex, ambiguous product challenges end-to-end—from technical design through shipping to end usersMentor other engineers through code reviews, design feedback, and pairingPartner with Product, Design, and Clinical teams to translate clinical workflows into scalable solutionsIdentify and drive improvements to technical debt, reliability, and developer experienceChampion AI tools in your daily workflow and help establish team-wide best practicesOur tech stack: TypeScript, Node.js, React, Postgres, AWS, ECSRequirements8+ years of full-stack engineering experience, at least 4 years at the Senior level, shipping complex features in production systemsDemonstrated track record leading technical initiatives that span multiple teams or systemsExtensive experience with 0-1 buildsProficient with AI coding tools as part of daily developmentExperience at early-staged venture-backed startups (e.g. seed through Series C stage)Strong communicator who can align stakeholders around technical decisionsPassion for improving mental healthcareNice To HavesHIPAA-regulated healthcare or fintech experienceAI/ML integration in productionBased in San Francisco and able to go into the office 2 days per week$200,000 - $240,000 a yearDepending on experience. The reasonably estimated national salary range for this position is between $200,000-$240,000 per year, plus an equity package for eligible employees. Actual compensation will be commensurate with the candidate’s experience and local cost of labor.
