Role Summary:
- We are looking for a hands-on Robotics QA Engineer responsible for validating the quality, reliability, and safety-related behavior of our Autonomous Mobile Robot (AMR) software platform.
- This role combines robotics software testing, simulation-based validation, ROS-based test automation, test management and traceability, failure analysis and root cause investigation, collaboration with Robotics, Backend, Frontend, and DevOps teams, and structured quality processes and release validation.
- This is not a traditional manual QA role and not a web application testing role.
- The ideal candidate understands robotic systems, simulations, system interactions, and software validation in complex environments.
Core Candidate DNA:
- Understands how robotic software behaves in real and simulated environments.
- Thinks in robot behavior, state machines, navigation flows, and sensor interactions.
- Validates complete robot workflows, not only isolated functions.
- Understands the difference between software defects, configuration issues, and environmental conditions.
- Understands the value and limitations of simulation.
- Creates repeatable and automated validation scenarios.
- Works with Gazebo or Ignition environments.
- Understands robot-world interactions, sensors, localization, navigation, and obstacle avoidance concepts.
- Defines realistic test scenarios.
- Reproduces complex defects.
- Validates system behavior across software releases.
- Translates customer issues into automated simulation tests.
- Demonstrates passion for traceability and repeatability.
- Understands validation processes.
- Documents complex test scenarios.
- Organizes large test suites across multiple product releases.
- Demonstrates strong understanding of test plans, test cases, regression testing, release validation, and defect tracking.
- Brings engineering rigor to quality assurance.
- Writes Python test automation.
- Investigates failures directly.
- Reads logs, ROS bags, and diagnostic outputs.
- Works closely with developers to reproduce and isolate issues.
- Performs approximately 70% hands-on validation and automation work.
