Zoopla is searching for a Senior Data Engineer to help build out their advanced analytics and real-time big data platform. This role will be responsible for supporting the design and delivery of data-oriented technology solutions for Zoopla and its three business units; Homes, Hometrack and Software. These technology solutions will execute on strategies for Zoopla’s overall data landscape, data models, taxonomies and reference data hierarchies, data governance and stewardship, and data monetisation opportunities. Responsibilities: - Support and mentor other team members - Work in a dynamic environment with a certain degree of uncertainty - Work with SQL / NoSQL - Champion languages, and tools on the job, to ensure that the product is not left behind in a rapidly evolving ecosystem - Deliver real business value to the customer - Challenge the company and help shape its future - Use Amazon Web Services (Glue, Redshift, Lambda, Step Functions) - Use Terraform - Use Python, Spark - Possibly use Kinesis, Docker / ECS, DBT - Possibly use a modern orchestration tool - EG - Airflow, Dagster, Prefect - Possibly run machine learning pipelines in production
