Location: Sarasota, FL / Lakewood Ranch, FL We are seeking a dedicated Legal Assistant to join our family law practice in Lakewood Ranch/Sarasota, FL. This is a full-time, on-site role, supporting the managing attorney and senior paralegal in delivering top-quality legal representation in divorce and family law matters. The Legal Assistant will play a key role in managing client communications, maintaining accurate case files, and ensuring the smooth operation of day-to-day office activities. This position requires strong organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, and a professional yet compassionate approach to clients navigating challenging situations. Responsibilities 1. Provide comprehensive administrative support to the managing attorney and senior paralegal. 2. Answer and route incoming calls, maintaining a professional and client-focused tone. 3. Communicate effectively with clients, prospective clients, and opposing counsel. 4. Schedule meetings, hearings, and appointments. 5. Prepare and file legal documents, including e-filing case pleadings. 6. Maintain and organize client files and case records. 7. Draft basic family law documents under supervision. 8. Support the team with additional administrative tasks as needed to ensure smooth firm operations. Qualifications 1. Strong knowledge and understanding of Florida Law and law office professional standards. 2. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 3. Proven experience in administrative assistance. 4. Previous experience as a Legal Assistant in a law office environment. 5. Outstanding organizational and time-management skills. 6. Proficiency with Clio law office management software (or similar systems). 7. Ability to work independently while handling sensitive and confidential information. 8. Bachelor’s degree in Legal Studies, Law, or a related field preferred.
