- Rivel is a rapidly growing, privately held company - Rivel helps management teams and boards improve valuation, mitigate risk, and drive performance - Named to Hearst Media's Top Workplaces in 2020, 2022, and 2023 Rivel is seeking a Senior Vice President, Legal to lead its legal function and oversee negotiations of various complex commercial contracts with clients, partners, and vendors. The ideal candidate will have a Juris Doctor degree from an American Bar Association accredited law school, 8+ years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified, and proficiency with MS Office, Salesforce, and Trello. This position reports to the Chief Productivity Officer and requires onsite presence in the Westport, CT office once a week. Responsibilities: - Oversee negotiations of various complex commercial contracts with clients, partners, and vendors - Research ad-hoc legal issues and advise senior management/human resources on sensible action - Review and edit contract terms, and log requirements in Excel and Trello - Identify data privacy/information security issues to ensure compliance with agreements and global regulations, liaise with IT department - Notify and educate relevant colleagues of legal obligations/regulatory issues - Monitor developments in changing legal and regulatory environment, including global data privacy regulations - Update corporate documents/registrations and board resolutions - Work with US and foreign outside counsel as needed
