The accounts payable and royalty specialist will assist the Vice President of Content Licensing with data processing, royalty remittances, and expense account reconciliation.
An account payable and royalty specialist is responsible for processing the reports used to calculate royalties owed to publishers, recording company expenses, and emitting timely and accurate monthly payments to Newstex's vendors.
If you are successful in the accounts payable specialist role, Newstex may offer you the opportunity to take on a full-time role as our bookkeeper, who would handle the day-to-day recording of financial transactions, administer various types of vendor payments, and prepare financial and management reports.
Responsibilities:
* Conducting detailed data analysis in Microsoft Excel.
* Data entry and reconciliation report management in QuickBooks Online.
* Payment remittance via ACH origination and electronic payment platforms like CitiBusiness Online and PayPal.
* You will also produce ad-hoc analyses of royalty trends over time and related revenues to Newstex.
Requirements:
* Expert in QuickBooks Online (or a similar accounting system).
* At least three years of experience as a staff accountant within a company or accounting services firm.
* Expert in Microsoft Excel.

* You must be willing to work in this role for at least 2–3 years.
* You'll need to have a clean criminal and credit history. (Upon a successful interview, Newstex will require your permission to run a background check with state authorities.)
* For this role, you must reside within US Central or Eastern time zones.
