Requirements and responsibilities
Responsibilities:Own day-to-day database operations and service requests across cloud-native (Cloud SQL) and legacy SQL Server environmentsWrite and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and data models in support of software and data product teamsCollaborate with architects and engineers to implement scalable, low-latency database services for OLTP and analytical workloadsBuild and maintain CI/CD pipelines for schema migrations using Liquibase or FlywayContribute to the automation of database provisioning, monitoring, and security hardening using Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform)Diagnose and resolve performance issues using telemetry tools to identify slow queries, inefficient indexing, and capacity bottlenecksSupport ETL pipelines and real-time data movement in cloud-native environments, working closely with data engineering teamsDocument and maintain operational runbooks, architecture decisions, and troubleshooting guidesPartner with principal engineers and the Enterprise Architecture organization to design reusable patterns and blueprints for common database workloadsRequirementsMust-Have Requirements:Proficient experience working with SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or other relational databasesSolid experience writing and tuning SQL queries, views, and stored proceduresStrong understanding of data modeling principles and indexing strategies for performance and scalabilityHands-on experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines for schema migrations (Liquibase or Flyway)Hands-on experience with cloud-native managed database services (e.g., Cloud SQL on GCP or equivalent)Experience with observability and telemetry tools for database performance analysis (e.g., Cloud Monitoring, OpenTelemetry, or similar)Experience supporting ETL pipelines or real-time data movement in cloud environmentsExperience working with Git in team environmentsFamiliarity with Agile software development processesStrong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with a methodical approach to root cause analysisStrong communication and documentation skillsNice-to-Have Requirements:Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform) for database provisioning and automationExperience with AlloyDBBenefitsRemote work.13 floating holiday.15 vacation days per year completed.Good working environment.Every qualified candidate who meets the requirements outlined in the job description will be considered in this hiring process without distinction.Furthermore, Jalasoft is an equal opportunity employer.
