Requirements and responsibilities
The timetable is one of the most expensive decisions a school makes. Yet most schools still lack the tools to properly model the consequences of changing it.School leaders make decisions every day about curriculum, staffing, and budgets. The difficulty is that those decisions are interconnected. A change to one can affect everything from recruitment needs to whether students are taught by a specialist teacher.I have spent a lot of time, both as a senior leader and now as an education consultant, helping schools to align their curriculum and staffing models. The current tensions of falling rolls, budget pressures, and upcoming curriculum changes make this an even more pertinent time to focus on that alignment.I found the tools available to support this alignment and forecasting to be slow, clunky, or simply not fit for purpose. This plays out in a reported 26% of staff teaching the majority of their timetable outside their specialism, and one in six schools running at a deficit.I want schools to be able to model multiple complex scenarios rapidly and make evidence-informed decisions about the changes they are going to make to curriculum and staffing models. So we’re building Curriculum Solutions Insights, an AI-powered platform that helps school leaders make strategic decisions about curriculum and staffing, improving the experience for students and staff while achieving better value for money. We're about to start working with our first beta-testing schools, and getting that experience right starts with the right person. I'm looking for someone brilliant to join me.We’re hiring a Head of Customer Experience on a three-month contract, remote, £150–£180 per day. This is our first customer hire. You'll be the warm, trusted point of contact for every school we work with, helping them get genuine value from the platform, feeding insight back to shape the product, and growing our school community from 10 to 40 schools by November. You don't need to come from EdTech, but you do need to care about education, be great with relationships, and be comfortable working in an early-stage environment where you'll help build things from scratch.Minimum 12 days a month, maximum 20, fully remote and genuinely flexible. This works well for people who need day-to-day flexibility.
