Accounting Analyst This is a unique opportunity and an exceptional growth path for those aspiring to become a CFO in a high-growth tech startup. You’ll work closely alongside veteran Y Combinator founders and collaborate cross-functionally with product, engineering, and business development teams. Ideal for recent graduates — part-time or full-time. Responsibilities: Revenue Reconciliation: - Ensure the accuracy of recorded revenue by cross-checking with sales data, payment gateways, crypto wallets, and bank statements. This process guarantees the integrity of the company’s financial statements. Transactional Cost Reconciliation - Verify the accuracy of all transactional expenses, including bank fees and crypto gas fees. - Accurately track and report daily FX gains and losses. Expense Monitoring: - Track and categorize monthly expenses (e.g., transportation, marketing, travel) to ensure alignment with the approved budget. Client Due Diligence (KYB) - Conduct Know Your Business (KYB) financial due diligence for each client and provider during the onboarding process. - Investigate potential fraud, misconduct, or financial irregularities to identify discrepancies and unusual patterns. Process Optimization & Compliance: - Propose and implement improvements to streamline revenue tracking, cost management, and expense monitoring. - Prepare monthly U.S. GAAP-compliant financial reports, including the income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow statement. - Design and maintain processes to ensure ongoing corporate compliance across jurisdictions. - Ensure full compliance with local tax regulations, including the timely filing and payment of all applicable taxes and government fees. Requirements: Must-Have - Minimum of 3 months’ accounting experience (internship) at a multinational accounting firm. - Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. - Proficiency in English. - Based in Mexico City or Bogotá. Nice-to-Have - Experience in any of the following areas: forensic accounting, auditing, or back-office operations at a currency trading desk. - Familiarity with AI tools for productivity and analysis. Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) - Prepare monthly U.S. GAAP-compliant financial reports, including the income .statement, balance sheet, and cash flow statement. - Develop a daily transaction ledger report to reconcile revenue and transactional costs, and flag any irregularities.
