Requirements and responsibilities
Lead software engineering efforts for Coinbase with 8+ years of experience, including 2+ years of leading high-performing teams. Hands-on AI/ML leadership shipping products powered by Large Language Models (LLMs); expertise in prompt engineering, fine-tuning, and model providers (OpenAI, Anthropic, etc.). Build and evaluate RAG pipelines and data lifecycles to ground AI in real-time knowledge. Scale distributed systems and integrate AI components into production environments. Use quantitative evaluation frameworks to measure accuracy, hallucinations, and user impact; ensure security and safety guardrails to prevent data leakage. Experience with vector databases, AI orchestration frameworks, FinTech/cryptocurrency regulatory considerations, NLP/ML background, Golang and cloud-native infrastructure (AWS, Kubernetes) are a plus.
