Responsibilities

Role Overview: - The client is a European AI video intelligence company building solutions for the public and private sectors. - The company is expanding into Germany and needs a local Business Development Lead to open the market. - This hire exists to drive go-to-market efforts on the ground, leveraging existing relationships to win public-sector and critical-infrastructure deals. Ideal Candidate: - A mid-to-senior level sales professional based in Berlin or Munich with a strong, active network in the German civil sector. - The ideal candidate is a highly mobile, hands-on 0-to-1 builder experienced in both direct and channel sales. - Capable of navigating complex public procurement processes independently. Key Responsibilities: - Identify, approach, and close business development opportunities with public sector bodies and large private operators across Germany. - Build and activate a trusted network of decision-makers including municipalities, federal and state (Länder) authorities, government and defence-adjacent entities, and large private operators. - Move opportunities quickly from first contact to signed agreement, leveraging existing market relationships rather than starting cold. - Act as the primary local point of contact for German prospects and clients. - Coordinate with leadership on deal strategy and the occasional in-person visit. - Feed market intelligence back on local buying patterns, procurement processes, and competitive dynamics. Required Qualifications: - A proven business development and sales track record in Germany, with a network you can activate immediately. - Native or fluent German and fluent English. - Familiarity with German public procurement and how public-sector and large private buyers make decisions. - Based anywhere in Germany and happy to travel to meet prospects and clients across the country. - Self-starting and fast-moving, able to open doors and drive deals independently. - Experience selling into security, defence, or public-sector and critical-infrastructure buyers is a strong plus.
