We’re looking for someone with practical software systems engineering background, exceptional interpersonal skills and an innately curious approach to problem solving. You will work with like-minded individuals in collaborative teams to bring solutions to life for our customers around the world.
The role
You will be hands on in the configuration and design of software solutions in a customer facing role. Typical tasks include:
Discover, quantify, and prioritise business requirements against ambitious strategic goals.
Design solutions for the business requirements against technical, financial, and operational constraints.
Configure and deliver the solution with collaborative teams to deliver the value to our customers, this may include modelling and defining products, processes and pricing
Contribute to the DGIT delivery methodology to drive ongoing improvements to how we operate.
Over time, grow within the business from focused solutions to leading large projects, solutions and teams.
Skills and experience
Our ideal candidate has demonstrable experience in software system engineering.
This includes:
Development experience in an object-oriented programming language, and understands the concepts of objects, classes, data types, composition, inheritance and polymorphism
Experience with software architectural concepts such as REST APIs, micro-services, integration patterns (e.g., synchronous/asynchronous, primary-secondary, event-bus)
Be naturally proficient in understanding, documenting and conveying requirements and functional specifications
Be able to leverage your exceptional communications and analysis skills to drive towards tangible outcomes
Experience in the telecommunications industry
Bonus points if you have
Have industry, extra-curricular, final year project or self-interest project(s) and can show us your role and the outcomes of the project
Have experience in configurable software systems
