Responsibilities

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead our partner's development team as they transition from using external development resources to an entirely in-house team. This role involves hands-on coding, mentoring engineers, overseeing daily development tasks, and leading technical initiatives. The Engineering Manager will report directly to the VP of Engineering and the co-founders and will play a critical role in the continued growth and success of their company. Key Responsibilities: ✦ Oversee daily development tasks and ensure alignment with business objectives. ✦ Report to the two co-founders and the VP of Engineering. ✦ Manage and mentor a team of developers and QAs, including tech leads. ✦ Engage in hands-on coding and lead by example. ✦ Drive architecture design, deployment strategies, and resource allocation. ✦ Manage project budgets and ensure efficient use of resources. ✦ Lead the development and maintenance of our platform, app, mobile app, and admin dashboard. ✦ Ensure smooth execution, bug resolution, task coordination, and performance. ✦ improvement to meet deadlines. ✦ Collaborate minimally with the data science team while maintaining focus on engineering tasks. ✦ Maintain high standards of communication, both internally and externally, ensuring clarity and conciseness. Technical Requirements: ✦ Proficiency in Node.js, React, AWS, PostgreSQL, REST APIs, DevOps, CI/CD, and Docker. ✦ Experience with mobile app development is a plus. ✦ Solid understanding of resource allocation, architecture design, and deployment processes. ✦ Ability to manage international teams across different time zones is highly desirable. Soft Skills: ✦ Excellent communication skills with a focus on clarity and conciseness. ✦ Strong command of English, both written and spoken. ✦ Detail-oriented yet straightforward in conveying information. ✦ Proven ability to lead and mentor a diverse team, fostering a collaborative and productive environment. Managerial Skills: ✦ Strong background in coding production, bug resolution, and execution. ✦ Effective task coordination and control to ensure timely delivery. ✦ Ability to improve team performance under tight deadlines. Qualifications: ✦ Significant experience in a tech lead role, open to a transition to managerial responsibilities. ✦ Demonstrated ability to lead technical initiatives and manage complex projects. ✦ Business-oriented mindset with experience in budget management.
