As a Senior Platform Engineer, you will help build and maintain the systems churches rely on every day. You’ll contribute to cloud infrastructure, automation, CI/CD, and platform reliability while supporting both existing systems and new platform initiatives. Working closely with the Platform Engineering Manager and engineering teams, you’ll help build secure, scalable infrastructure that empowers churches to stay connected, engaged, and supported in their ministry.Primary Responsibilities of the RoleCloud Infrastructure & OperationsProvision and manage cloud infrastructure across compute, networking, storage, and managed databasesMaintain consistency across development, staging, and production environmentsPlan and execute workload migrations across cloud providers with minimal disruptionIdentify and implement infrastructure cost optimization opportunitiesCI/CD & AutomationBuild and maintain CI/CD pipelines across a multi-repository environmentImplement deployment strategies such as blue/green, canary, and rolling deploymentsDevelop automation tooling and scripts to reduce manual effort and improve delivery speedInfrastructure as CodeWrite and maintain Terraform infrastructure across multi-account, multi-environment systemsEstablish IaC standards, module reuse patterns, and state management practicesDrive infrastructure changes through version-controlled, peer-reviewed workflowsReliability & Incident ResponseParticipate in on-call rotation and lead incident response effortsMaintain observability through dashboards, alerting, logging, and SLO trackingConduct post-incident reviews and implement long-term remediationsSecurity & ComplianceManage secrets, certificates, and access controls using least-privilege principlesApply security best practices across infrastructure, containers, and CI/CD pipelinesSupport audit and compliance initiatives through documentation and access reviewsCollaboration & DocumentationPartner with engineering teams on infrastructure guidance and service designCreate architecture documentation, runbooks, and operational guidesHelp build self-service platform capabilities for engineering teamsQualificationsA Successful Candidate Will:Be Tech Savvy by anticipating and adopting innovations in business-building digital and technology applications. Be a Nimble Learner by actively learning through experimentation when tackling new problems, using both successes and failures as learning fodder.Drive Results by persisting in accomplishing objectives despite obstacles and setbacksCollaborate by building partnerships and working collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives.Communicates Effectively by developing and delivering multi-mode communications that convey a clear understanding of the unique needs of different audiences.Manages Complexity by making sense of complex, high quantity, and sometimes contradictory information to effectively solve problems.Required Technical Qualifications:5+ years of experience in Platform Engineering, DevOps, or Site Reliability EngineeringStrong AWS experience with EC2, EKS/ECS, VPC, Route 53, IAM, S3, EBS, and CloudWatchDeep Terraform experience across multi-environment configurationsExperience with Kubernetes, ECS, Docker, ArgoCD, and Helm in production environmentsExperience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions or similar toolsStrong observability and monitoring experience (Datadog, Prometheus/Grafana, New Relic, etc.)Solid networking fundamentals including DNS, TLS, VPNs, load balancing, and VPC designPreferred Technical Qualifications:Experience as a network engineerExperience with postgres and mysql compatible database administrationExperience working with Google/Azure cloud Kubernetes, AWS or Terraform certificationOffice Requirements:We are a fully distributed team (100% remote) with travel sometimes required 1-2 times per year.A stable work environment with designated workspace and access to high-speed internet.US-based and legally able to work full time in the US.
