The team is small but focused on building high-leverage software systems that solve complex problems for customers. We are seeking a key technical contributor to lead and implement our cross-cloud distributed platform that supports multiple SaaS products. Ideal candidates will have extensive experience with modern cloud infrastructure, distributed systems design, and hands-on experience developing Rust programs for production environments. At OMC, we value people and culture as the foundation for creating exceptional software. We welcome candidates who are collaborative, curious, and bring diverse perspectives to the team. We prioritize learning and invest in our people to support both personal and professional growth. Experience you should ideally have * 5+ years building complex distributed systems. * 5+ years owning and managing infrastructure with a major cloud provider. * 2+ years leading projects and designing distributed systems and API platforms. * Strong experience in network configuration, debugging, and modification, including load balancing, traffic routing, TCP/UDP, SSL/TLS, firewalls, and IAM. * Experience working directly with customers and delivering with urgency. * Working knowledge of ETL, data warehousing, and batch or stream processing. * Some experience with automated security scanning tools in high-load environments. * Some experience developing applications using the Rust programming language. Experience you will gain (or is highly valuable if already acquired) * Building, modifying, and operating Elasticsearch or OpenSearch clusters. * Creating packages, modules, closures, and shells with Nix. * Running production systems on NixOS. * Using Kafka as a distributed system component for load management. * Using Cassandra to store large-scale columnar data. Physical Demand and Work Environment * Primary workspace will be remote (home or rented office space). * Occasional travel (1–4 times per year) to Austin or other North American locations. * Must be able to sit or stand for up to eight hours a day. Work Hours/Schedule * Full-time, 40 hours per week (8 hours per day, 5 days per week). * 13 company holidays per year. * Flexible paid time off policy. * On-call rotation (schedule varies).
