LocationAnywhere in the continental US, with the ability to travel (quarterly for company summits, plus up to weekly during back-to-school season from late July to early September)Our visionWelcome to Beast Classroom, where students delight in mathematical challenge – playing games, solving puzzles, and exploring rigorous content that demands flexible, creative thinking; where teachers are energized and empowered to teach math; where principals stop by and smile at the signs of a budding math culture; and where there is no ceiling for math excellence. Our missionAt Beast, we’re on a mission to bring this experience to teachers in elementary schools everywhere. We’re building a K-5 math curriculum based on the beloved Beast Academy comic universe and the rigorous Art of Problem Solving pedagogy that has trained the world’s top math students for a generation. Our challengeTeaching is hard, and teaching math for deep understanding can be even harder. In classrooms across the country, teachers are caught between rigid traditional methods and the desire to foster true mathematical curiosity. To meet this moment, we believe:Implementation is the key to impact. Even the best curriculum needs a champion. We don't just provide a product; we provide a partnership that ensures no teacher feels like they are navigating this rigor alone.Technology should serve the teacher. Students don't need digital babysitters. We are committed to building responsive digital tools that reduce teacher burden—and we need a Professional Learning Specialist who can help us bridge the gap between our current tools and their full potential.Dialogue and reasoning are the goal. The 'magic' of math happens through discussion. We are challenged to equip teachers with the professional 'field sense' to use every resource as a springboard for deeper human connection. Why we need youWe have the foundational pieces in place: a pedagogy rooted in deep problem-solving, a growing community of early-adopter educators, and mission-aligned backers. We've built a talented team on a foundation of transparency, trust, and deep care.As our partner school community grows, we are expanding our Professional Learning team to ensure every educator has the support they need to succeed. We need a Professional Learning Specialist who can navigate the 'spectrum of skill' required to support diverse schools; who can advocate for teacher needs while respecting our current internal constraints; and who is excited to collaborate with our existing team to refine our tools so that every student is challenged to think creatively and flexibly.Who you areYou care deeply about teachers. You believe every child deserves to be mathematically challenged, and that the teacher is the key to making that happen. You are a master facilitator. You love 'reading the room.' Whether you are in a classroom of 30 students or a room of 30 skeptical teachers, you know how to build rapport and pivot in real-time to ensure the learning 'clicks.'You know how to balance the 'ideal' with the 'real.' You are a fierce advocate for what teachers need right now, but you also understand that building a great product takes time. You’re great at finding professional, kind ways to say 'not yet' while keeping teachers excited about where we are going. You’re a creator at heart. You don’t just deliver; you iterate and refine. You won't just report problems; you’ll help build the solutions.Represent the field: Act as the 'voice of the teacher' in internal meetings, providing clear, honest feedback to our product teams about what is actually happening on the ground.Partner internally: Collaborate within our Professional Learning team and other internal teams to make sure the resources you build and the feedback you gather are turned into long-term improvements for educators and students. All candidates must haveEducation: A Bachelor’s degree in education, mathematics, or a related field.Experience: 4+ years of experience teaching elementary math (K-5).Math & Communication Skills: Strong 'math-positive' communication skills—the ability to explain mathematical concepts clearly and enthusiastically to both students and adults.Exceptional candidates may haveFacilitation experience: A track record of leading engaging PD or workshops for adult learners.Builder mindset: Experience creating original supplemental resources, graphic organizers, or instructional guides.Additional information about the position:Work authorization: Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.Salary range: $80,000-$90,000 + equityKey benefits: Private health, dental, vision, and life insurance; paid time off, including a winter holiday shutdown; 401K plan; flexibility-first culture.
