Role Summary:
- We are looking for a hands-on Senior Backend Engineer responsible for building and evolving the backend services that power our Autonomous Mobile Robot (AMR) platform.
- This role combines backend engineering (Rust and Python), distributed systems development, cloud-native platform development, microservices and event-driven architectures, Kubernetes and containerized deployments, scalable APIs and data processing, performance, reliability, and security engineering, and collaboration with Frontend, Robotics, DevOps, Product, and QA teams.
Strong Backend Engineer Requirements:
- Expert-level software engineer with strong backend development experience.
- Capable of delivering production-grade software at high velocity.
- Experience developing scalable distributed systems.
- Comfortable working in large, complex code bases.
- Strong understanding of performance, concurrency, resilience, and maintainability.
- Candidates who mainly worked on simple CRUD applications, internal tools, or low-complexity web services are unlikely to be a good fit.
Distributed Systems Builder Requirements:
- Thinks in services, workflows, APIs, and data flows.
- Understands modern backend architectures.
- Comfortable working with microservices, event-driven systems, message-based architectures, containerized services, and high-availability systems.
- Must be capable of translating architecture into robust services, designing clean APIs, handling fault tolerance and recovery, and understanding real-world operational complexity.
Quality-Focused Engineer Requirements:
- Builds quality into the software from day one.
- Strong engineering discipline.
- Understands automated testing, integration testing, API testing, CI/CD, observability, secure software development, and dependency management.

Hands-on Builder Requirements:

Responsibilities:
- Build backend services powering the MOV.AI platform.
- Develop scalable APIs and service interfaces.
- Implement business logic for fleet management, orchestration, deployment, monitoring, and analytics.
- Develop high-performance services in Rust and Python.
- Work on distributed systems running across cloud, edge, and robot environments.
- Improve scalability, reliability, and maintainability of existing services.
- Participate in architecture discussions and transform concepts into working software.
- Build testable and observable systems.
- Support debugging and root-cause analysis in production environments.
- Collaborate closely with Frontend, Robotics, DevOps, and QA teams.
Reporting Line:
- Reports to the Backend Team Lead.
- Works closely with Algorithm and Optimization Team, Frontend/UI Team, Robotics Team, QA Team, DevOps Team, and Product Management.
- Plays a key role in enabling distributed business services, event-driven system architectures, cloud-native platform capabilities, order-to-execution orchestration, real-time operational decision services, fleet coordination services, data processing and analytics pipelines, multi-tenant platform capabilities, scalable API ecosystems, and reliable enterprise-grade backend systems.
Work Arrangements:
- This position requires regular on-site presence at the Company's office for a minimum of three working days per week.
- The remaining working days may be performed remotely, subject to business requirements and the Company's hybrid working policy.
