We are looking for a Machine Learning (ML) Vision Engineer with a solid foundation in software development and proven experience in image processing, computer vision, and machine learning. This role is central to our Optical Character Recognition (OCR) project, which powers real-time, large-scale image-based transaction processing.Description of DutiesDesign, implement, and optimize Machine Learning based computer vision components, including: Object detection and image classification models.OCR pipelines integrating third-party and in-house engines.Image quality assessment classifiers (e.g., overexposed, underexposed, obstructed).Develop robust, production-ready Python code with strong Object-Oriented Design (OOD) principles.Collaborate with system architect to integrate Machine Learning components into a distributed, message-driven architecture.Implement data-driven training, evaluation, and feedback loops for OCR and image classifiers.Optimize model performance for near real-time transaction workflows (latency and throughput).Participate in system-level design discussions, ensuring scalability, maintainability, and adaptability.Work closely with database, Application Programming Interface (API), and DevOps teams to ensure smooth deployment and testing.Build frameworks and systems, not just proof-of-concept notebooks.Fully document all created work associated with this position, including technical and functional designs and diagrams, test plans, test scripts, impact analysis reports, lessons learned, best practices for others to follow, plus any other documentation as required.
