This is an end-to-end role where you’ll help define problems, build models, and support production delivery.Why Paystone?Impact: Build models that directly influence customer experiences and business outcomes.Flexibility: People-first approach focused on outcomes, not location or hours.Innovation: Work at the intersection of machine learning, product thinking, and AI-assisted development.Collaboration: Partner closely with Product, Engineering, and BI in a fast-moving, supportive environment.What You’ll Do:Partner with Product and BI to turn business goals into well-scoped ML problems with clear success criteria and guardrailsBuild and productionize models for segmentation, churn, LTV, and recommendationsDesign evaluation frameworks including offline benchmarks and online feedback loops to ensure models are measured, not assumedCollaborate with Engineering on production design considerations like latency, payload structure, fallbacks, and failure modesMonitor model performance over time, detect drift, and own retraining and iteration cyclesUse product telemetry and user feedback to drive continuous model and feature improvementsWork alongside AI coding agents to accelerate development (pipelines, tests, refactoring, exploration) while maintaining human oversightCommunicate results, trade-offs, and recommendations clearly across technical and non-technical teamsWho You Are5+ years as a Data Scientist, Applied Scientist, or ML EngineerStrong SQL and Python skills with production ML experienceExperience with churn, segmentation, LTV, or recommender systemsComfortable working with production systems and APIsFamiliar with AI coding tools and agentic workflowsStrong communicator who can simplify technical conceptsNice to HaveExperience in loyalty, CRM, or retail analyticsLLM or AI agent experienceBuilding internal tools or ML infrastructureFrench/English bilingualIf you’re excited about building practical, impactful ML systems that ship into real products, we’d love to meet you.
