Role: Sales Application Engineer

Location: Remote (U.S. based and preferred; Phoenix for Western US or Texas for South Central US)
Compensation: $115,000 – $130,000 base salary (flexible), plus an expected 10–12% bonus
Travel: 25–30% travel to customer sites and events, mostly regional

The Role:
- As a Sales Application Engineer, you will act as a critical bridge between the sales, engineering, and manufacturing teams.
- This role is heavily pre-sales focused, emphasizing proposals, equipment selection, application support, and technical discussions.
- You will play a pivotal role in translating complex project requirements into high-performance cooling solutions that deliver superior efficiency and lifecycle value.
- The position features limited post-sales involvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Partner closely with Regional Sales Managers, consulting engineers, and contractors to design optimized cooling solutions.
- Develop equipment selections and system solutions that meet performance, cost, reliability, and energy efficiency objectives.
- Prepare technical proposals and application recommendations aligned with project specifications.
- Deliver technical presentations, product training, and application guidance to consulting engineers, contractors, and end users.
- Evaluate competitor equipment selections and provide strategic technical positioning to highlight efficiency and lifecycle advantages.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Service teams to ensure proposed solutions align with manufacturing capabilities and delivery schedules.
- Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and technical forums such as ASHRAE and the AHR Expo.
What You'll Bring:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, a related engineering discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
- 3–7+ years of experience in HVAC applications engineering, mechanical system design, or technical sales engineering.
- Extensive experience working with chilled water systems, large tonnage chillers, or complex HVAC applications is strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of commercial HVAC system design, lifecycle cost analysis, and energy efficiency metrics (IPLV/NPLV, COP).
- The ability to explain complex engineering concepts clearly and confidently to internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Candidates must already be authorized to work in the U.S. as no visa sponsorship is available.
- The ability to travel between the U.S. and Canada is required.
