We are looking for an ambitious and entrepreneurial National Category & Sourcing Manager for Dry & Cooled Dry Goods to join our team. This position can be fully remote, but preferably located near any of our four locations: Tracy, CA, Dallas, TX, Newark, NJ, or New York, NY. As the subject matter expert in the bread, dry, and spices categories, you will strategically develop and facilitate annual category plans, curate a brand-aligned assortment, and collaborate with various teams to ensure the best quality ingredients for our meal kits. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of previous Category Management/Strategic Sourcing experience, a strong interest in the meal kit industry, and excellent quantitative and analytical skills.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the subject matter expert in the bread, dry, and spices categories
- Strategically develop and facilitate annual category plans
- Build and curate a brand-aligned assortment, including SKU mix, design, and seasonality
- Provide procurement advice, price updates, reporting, replenishment, compliance & tenders
- Collaborate with marketing, product development, culinary, and warehouse operations on category communication, forecasting, and category development
- Source innovative new products, ideas, and promotions
- Work closely with the operational buyer to manage inventory turns and SKU efficiencies
- Work with suppliers to ensure on-time, on-spec deliveries or discuss shortages/missed deliveries
- Create ongoing data analysis & category reviews
- Make split-second decisions with far-reaching consequences
- Solve problems on the go in a fast-paced environment
- Work with suppliers to develop bespoke ingredients and flavors for our meal kits, with a strong focus on right-size and right-price
