Responsibilities - Translate and localize Malagasy content, ensuring linguistic accuracy, cultural appropriateness and contextual relevance. - Review translations, implement quality controls and resolve terminology and style issues. - Lead Malagasy language projects through completion, coordinating with clients, project managers and linguists to meet deadlines and quality standards. - Mentor linguists and junior colleagues and facilitate training and development. - Develop and maintain Malagasy glossaries, style guides and language resources that meet client requirements. - Respond to client linguistic queries and feedback, addressing concerns about Malagasy language services. Additional requirements - A bachelor’s degree in Linguistics, Translation Studies, Language Arts or a related field is required. - Minimum 5 years of professional translation, localization or linguistic-services experience, including at least 2 years as a Language Lead or Senior Linguist. - Native OR near-native Malagasy and excellent command of English are required; additional languages are a plus. - Required: familiarity with CAT tools and TMS systems, strong linguistic QA knowledge, attention to detail, problem solving, communication, leadership and multicultural collaboration. - Preferred: localization or translation for global clients, knowledge of Madagascar’s cultural and regional language nuances, and translation/localization-tool certification. - The ideal candidate will possess a strong linguistic background, expertise in the Malagasy language, and the ability to lead projects with a focus on quality and efficiency.
