Project Staff Scientist

As a Project Staff Scientist, I played a pivotal role in the Planet Finding Capability Study Team for NASA's Space Interferometry Mission (SIM), where I spearheaded JPL's Analysis Team during Phases 1 and 2 of the Double Blind Test. I coordinated all five analysis teams, leading to the consensus solutions achieved in Phase 2. My contributions included devising a novel algorithm to hierarchically detect exoplanets and characterize their masses and orbits from joint astrometric and radial velocity data. This effort culminated in our successful demonstration of SIM's capability to detect Earth-mass planets in habitable zones of nearby solar-type stars, even within multiple planet systems, thereby advancing SIM toward potential launch considera
