My professional journey began with over five years of honorable service in the U.S. Navy, where I developed strong leadership, teamwork, and problem-solving skills in high-pressure environments. Upon transitioning to the civilian workforce, I gained valuable experience in the manufacturing and industrial sectors, applying my technical expertise while learning the ins and outs of the corporate landscape.
My desire to learn about leadership strategies, human performance, and team dynamics led me to pursue the study of psychology, which has since shaped my approach to organizational success.
After separating from the military, I was fortunate to join an organization that provided the right environment for professional growth. However, I quickly realized that many of my fellow veterans weren’t as lucky in their transition. That realization sparked my curiosity on how to make a difference in the veteran job community. When I was presented with the opportunity to work in the recruiting and placement space, I knew it was the right path.
This work is personal to me because I’ve seen firsthand how veterans often possess skills and capabilities far beyond what typical job descriptions might suggest or require. One of the biggest challenges veterans face is translating their military experience into language that resonates with civilian employers. While veterans may not consider themselves special or more valuable than others in the workforce, they do bring a distinctive set of soft skills—adaptability, leadership, and a knack for teamwork—that can drive success in any organization. My role is to help other veterans showcase these strengths to prospective employers, and I take immense pride in doing so.
The workforce needs the leadership abilities that veterans offer, and I am dedicated to helping them identify and secure roles that best match their talents, enabling them to thrive in their post-military careers.
