I’ve always been drawn to talent — listening to stories, exploring new flavors, textures, ingredients, chasing unfamiliar paths, and watching potential unfold in unexpected places. That mindset has taken me through many diverse (and beautiful) experiences: studying engineering, being vegetarian for 16 years, becoming a professional cook, and eventually finding home in the distributed remote world at the best company on earth: @Ergeon. 💙
Food, culture, and sustainability have shaped every part of my path. They led me to study Agroindustrial Production Engineering, where I fell in love with biodynamic food transformation, end to end. That same drive took me to vegetarianism, and that’s when cooking became more than survival — it became expression. I moved to Lisbon to go deeper, studied an MSc in Gastronomical Sciences, worked in Portuguese kitchens (including a two-Michelin-star restaurant, now #31 in the world), and immersed myself in science-driven cooking, local producers, and fair food systems. I became a professional cook, later a university professor, and created Vegetamales — a plant-based brand rooted in science, tradition, and purpose. But through it all, I kept being pulled toward people and the systems that help them grow, shine, and become their own superheroes.
Today, I lead the Talent Team at Ergeon — a global Construction Tech startup ranked #25 on Forbes’ list of America’s Best Startup Employers. We’re building a remote company where AI-First strategy meets kindness, lean thinking, and a real commitment to people. And I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else. 🌶️
