I have been training people in CrossFit since June of 2010, completed the level 1 CrossFit certification in November 2011, and started my own CrossFit affiliate in January 2011. CrossFit is an exercise regime that is based on the principle of constantly varied, high-intensity functional movements. We teach our clients that overall health and fitness ability is more beneficial than excelling at one element, ie., weight- lifting. We focus on an equal share of weights, gymnastics and cardio training with an emphasis on technique.

My role as a Family Volunteer is to work alongside the professional care team at Canuck Place Children's Hospice to enhance the quality of life of the child with a progressive life-threatening illness and his/her family. Family volunteers are with the children during activities, in the schoolroom, working with arts and crafts, on outing in the community and generally are there to support the child and family with whatever they need. I also do a variety of charity events that Canuck Place hosts such as the Gift of Time Gala, the main fundraiser for the hospice, and the Ice and Dice fundraiser, as well as baking and decorating cookies with the kids at the hospice on special occasions such as Halloween and Christmas. We launched the "Full Steam Ahead" campaign for the West Coast Railway in Squamish B.C. in June of 1996 with Pierre Burton as our campaign voice. During this campaign, we raised money to restore and continue the growth of the West Coast Railway in Squamish, B.C. I solicited donations for the heritage park and processed those donations, sending out receipts and maintaining files for our records.
