Vaishnavi, as a Millennium Fellow Class of 2024, launched the Climate Cadets Collective as part of her United Nations Academic Impact Project, aiming for long-term accountability and impactful work in the climate field. A passionate policy enthusiast with a deep interest in foreign affairs and diplomacy, Vaishnavi is currently in her third year of Economics studies at Lady Shri Ram College for Women, while also pursuing a dual degree in Data Science & Applications from IIT Madras to deepen her understanding of complex concepts.
With exceptional leadership abilities and a solid academic background, Vaishnavi is well-equipped to drive meaningful change on both national and organizational levels. Her extensive experience in Model United Nations conferences, involvement with the US Embassy Exchange Alumna Network, and roles such as Training Director at LSR MUNSOC and research intern at NITI Aayog (in both the Development Monitoring and Evaluation Office and the Security Vertical) highlight her proficiency in research, analysis, and persuasive communication.
Vaishnavi’s commitment to climate diplomacy and foreign policy is further evidenced by her invitation as one of the four speakers on a Sansad TV podcast focused on GenZ and Foreign Policy. She has also been selected as a delegate for the upcoming RCOY conference in Sri Lanka, where she aims to contribute to SDG 13 (Climate Action). On an individual level, Vaishnavi is conducting research on climate finance, reflecting her dedication to addressing climate challenges through innovative solutions.
In addition, Vaishnavi actively contributes to creating positive social and economic impacts through her roles as Regional Administration Officer at Pioneers Youth, project lead in Demoleague at Pioneers Youth, and her involvement in the UN-led initiative GirulUp Aazaad. Currently, she is also interning at the Public Policy & Governance Foundation, where she is engaged in political consultancy.
Her vision for Climate Cadets Collective includes introducing a strong climate diplomacy component while emphasizing the importance of community engagement as a pillar for bridging the gap between policy and implementation. Vaishnavi’s commitment to these goals reflects her dedication to making a tangible difference in the world today.
