Communication:
So not just being able to converse with and create tailored communication for a wide range of audiences, which is critical
But also, being kind – particularly when things are as challenging as they have been during the pandemic, where you have these super compressed timelines, many competing priorities, dependencies, and meetings – the work can become very stressful and challenging and then you combine all that with many different styles of work and personalities.
So, I think the people who have done well with managing these challenging dynamics have been great communicators, in the sense that they have maintained kindness in the face of adversity and helped cultivate a positive, safe, and supportive environment – which is reflected in their style of communication. And now that many of us have become part of a distributed virtual/remote workforce, communication is more important than ever.
