National Identity Management Commission

National Identity Management Commission is a government agency established in 2007 to develop and manage Nigeria’s national identity system. It is responsible for creating and maintaining the National Identity Database, registering citizens and legal residents, assigning a unique National Identification Number (NIN), and issuing identity credentials. The organization plays a key role in identity verification, data integration across government institutions, and enhancing national security and service delivery through a unified identity framework.
