Hi, my name is Andrés Torres, for the last 10 years I have been the Technical Leader on Buckets.co, in that time frame I have been developing the next the activities:
- Managing the engineering team, with all kind of developers: frontend, mobile,
backend.
- Managing functionality requests from the stakeholders, and prioritizing them from the engineering perspective
- Designing at multiple levels, from infrastructure to user experience
- Handling everything from end to end, task break-down and assignment to proper
developer, integration, testing, deployment and maintenance.
- Ensuring that the code is highly readable, understandable and workable from any of the developers on the team.
- Hiring management, so we have the developers we need at the given moment.
- Providing ideas to the stakeholders, sometimes the general idea is good, but with
refinements it can get excellent.
- Making the most of every person in the team, every individual is different, and they shine in some areas. Getting a painter for a bricklayer is not the best idea.
- Looking for misunderstandings/miscommunication between people is one of my
best skills, I can really tell when a conversation is happening like this.
