In 2011 I dropped out of university to play bass in a band. Over time one band turned into many, and each needed a website. This was before SquareSpace or Wix blew up, so the responsibility of setting up Wordpress sites fell naturally and squarely upon me, the bassist. It was as I poured over Wordpress themes, endlessly customizing my bands' sites, that I discovered a new passion in web development.
In 2014, I re-enrolled in university for a B.S. in Computer Science, finding internships and part time jobs in web development to support myself along the way. I graduated in May 2018, and have been leading front end development at my current organization since then.
My passion lies in front end development, bringing joy through intuitive and accessible UI/UX patterns, discovering new frameworks and workflows, and pushing the boundaries of the web browser as an interface. With both hard computer science and professional artistic experience as well as experience across the full stack of development, I work to bridge the gaps between good UX, the data analysis that enables it, and the algorithms that create it.
