- An independent, international business with a world-class global network and reputation - Mission to discover and deliver innovative technologies - Data centres and points of presence in more than 60 locations across the globe As a Network Security Engineer at Continent 8, you will be responsible for planning, configuring, and supporting DDoS mitigation platforms, firewall/VPN devices, and web protection services. You will collaborate with the wider network team to implement security controls, defences, and countermeasures to prevent internal and/or external attacks. Additionally, you will provide technical guidance to solve business problems and improve service availability for customers, manage planned maintenance and upgrade activities, and act as an escalation point for support teams during security events. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience in a network position, extensive knowledge of IP networking infrastructure, experience with DDoS platforms and firewalls, and practical knowledge of automation practices using Ansible playbook and Python programming. Strong technical and problem-solving skills, industry-recognized certifications, and excellent organizational and communication skills are also required. Responsibilities: - Participating in the planning, configuration, and support of DDoS mitigation platforms, firewall/VPN devices, and web protection services - Collaborating with the wider network team to implement security controls, defences, and countermeasures - Providing technical guidance to solve business problems and improve service availability for customers - Managing planned maintenance and upgrade activities for DDoS mitigation platforms and firewall devices - Acting as an escalation point for support teams in the resolution of customer service outages during security events - Participating in various technology - Creating and maintaining current documentation/Wiki - Working closely with software teams in defining the tools that enable security infrastructure scaling at volume - Developing ways to automate common operational & repeatable build
