Our collaborative global network ensures we deliver integrated accounting, tax, audit, and operational support to our clients worldwide.Position Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Tax Manager or Senior Tax Manager to join our dynamic Individual Tax team. This critical role will primarily involve the preparation and rigorous review of U.S. individual income tax returns, with a significant focus on expatriate taxation . You will leverage your expertise to ensure compliance with complex tax regulations and provide strategic tax planning advice to our international clients.Key Responsibilities:Prepare and meticulously review U.S. federal, state, and local individual income tax returns, with a primary emphasis on returns for expatriates and foreign nationals.Conduct in-depth reviews of tax returns and related work papers prepared by junior staff, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and adherence to tax laws and firm policies.Provide expert guidance and consultation on complex international tax matters, including but not limited to, foreign earned income exclusion, foreign tax credits, tax treaties, and foreign financial asset reporting.Manage client engagements, cultivate strong client relationships, and serve as a trusted advisor on individual tax planning and compliance issues.Collaborate effectively with our international network of experts to provide seamless cross-border tax solutions for clients.Stay abreast of changes in U.S. tax laws and regulations, assessing their impact on individual taxpayers and communicating relevant updates to clients and team members.Assist in the development of junior staff members through training and mentorship.Qualifications:A minimum of 5+ years of progressive experience in U.S. individual income tax, with demonstrated expertise in expatriate taxation is required.CPA license is preferred.Strong technical knowledge of U.S. federal and state income tax laws, specifically those applicable to individuals with international tax profiles.Proven ability to manage multiple engagements, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Exceptional analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of articulating complex tax concepts clearly to clients and colleagues.Experience working with an international client base, particularly Japanese expatriates or those with connections to the U.S.-Japan corridor, is highly advantageous given our firm's specialized focus.
