About the roleAt Gurobi Optimization, we empower customers to expand their use of mathematical optimization technology to make smarter decisions and solve impactful business problems. As a Technical Account Manager (TAM), your role primarily involves guiding prospective customers in integrating mathematical optimization technology into enterprise-grade software solutions. This goes far beyond technical advice—you bring clarity, build confidence, and drive progress for everyone along the customer journey.You will join a heterogeneous, global team that values quality, thoughtful work, and open knowledge sharing. Technical Account Management at Gurobi is part of the sales organization: you and other product and technology experts partner closely with sales to drive new business and deliver value to customers. TAMs guide key implementation decisions and system architecture, with the most important focus on ensuring efficient utilization of optimization technology—maximizing business value while considering cost-effectiveness and scalability.You will collaborate closely with Account Managers, Experts Advisory and Support, Research and Development, and Marketing teams. You will drive customer success through technical conversations and help customers build solid, honest business cases. You will also deliver workshops, trainings, and demonstrations that make complex topics clear and relevant. New TAMs receive 6 months of extensive technical training and peer mentoring.What you will be doing?Actively engage in calls and meetings with current and future customers.Collaborate and oversee technical discussions in ongoing business opportunities.Provide in-depth recommendations on architecture, sizing, implementation, and scalability.Offer coaching and presentations in customized workshops, webinars, and hands-on training sessions.Assist prospective customers to build solid and honest business cases.Create and present materials to showcase product functionality and performance.Take the lead in internal initiatives to improve processes, systems, and tools.Leverage your technical expertise as a subject matter expert within the team.Act as a dedicated team player within the global group, emphasizing mutual support and knowledge sharing.What experience and qualifications should you have?Technical background related to the field (not necessarily the same role), with strong understanding of how mathematical optimization enables effective decision intelligence solutions.Typically 3 to 5 years of professional experience, including around 3 years in optimization systems and/or data science.Master’s degree or higher in operations research, computer science, engineering, mathematics, or equivalent work experience.Strong proficiency in both written and spoken English; additional languages are a plus.What skills, abilities, and behaviors should you have?Hands-on, execution-oriented mindset with willingness to engage and drive work through to completion.Strong focus on quality, producing clear, thoughtful, and useful work.Proactive problem-solving mindset and meticulous attention to detail.High emotional intelligence, including self-awareness, empathy, and self-motivation.Curious approach—viewing each new situation as an opportunity to learn and improve.Clear and effective communication; ability to speak up, listen attentively, and help others move forward with confidence.Interest in building communication bridges between technical roles and business executives.Motivation to learn, grow, and contribute to both individual and team success.Ability to thrive in a fully remote work environment, balancing flexibility with discipline.Willingness to travel approximately 1–2 times per month.Ability to participate in meetings across global time zones, including occasional early or late hours when necessary.Consistent adherence to and support of company policies and procedures.What other requirements should you have?Proficiency in at least two Gurobi API languages (e.g., C, C++, Java, Python, C#, VB.NET).Basic understanding of IT and software engineering topics, including networking, web technologies, and general software engineering concepts.Familiarity with Microsoft 365 products.Ability and willingness to quickly learn and use Salesforce as needed.Basic understanding of Generative AI, with interest in further developing knowledge in this area.Your Alignment with our Gurobi Core ValuesCustomer Focus: Verbal and written communication skills that bring clarity and build trust.Power of the Team: Team-oriented mindset that aims to inspire and be inspired by others.Innovation: Courage to bring ideas forward and see yourself as an integral part of the global team.Dedication: Organized and agile, meeting professional objectives while promoting healthy work/life balance.Integrity: Uphold honesty and conduct business practices with an ethical mindset and fiscal responsibility.
