Responsibilities
We are seeking a highly skilled Frontend Engineer to build and optimize the UKON platform, a B2B multi-tenant application in the Cyber Insurance space. You'll be the second frontend engineer on a small team that values autonomy and ownership.
This is not a junior role. You should be able to work independently and make (and defend!) decisions about architecture, API contracts, and implementation. You suggest improvements and drive them forward. You understand design patterns and best practices and how to improve incrementally. Rather than jump to a rewrite, you refactor (and delete) code to evolve the product without breaking things.
Our current team works across the entire stack (frontend, backend, infrastructure). We're not all experts in every area, but everyone owns multiple areas and we expect to ask for help and learn from each other. We don't require that you contribute full stack, but we do expect similar levels of ownership and openness. And it's the kind of environment where you can grow into multiple areas if you want.
The ideal candidate will have a strong focus on performance, experience with asynchronous data flows, and a proven ability to create stunning data visualizations using modern web technologies.
Key Responsibilities
* Design & Development: Design and implement a scalable and high-performance frontend architecture using React/React Router, TypeScript, and MUI.
* Real-time Data Handling: Build and maintain asynchronous data flows and leverage appropriate technologies: e.g. websockets, WASM, or web workers to ensure smooth, near real-time performance.
* Data Visualization: Develop SVG-based data visualizations and interactive dashboards that display complex data insights, ensuring clarity and usability for users.
* Performance Optimization: Optimize frontend performance to handle large data sets, ensuring low latency across devices and platforms.
* Collaboration: Work closely with backend developers to ensure seamless integration with APIs and microservices, focusing on efficient data handling and security.
* CI/CD & DevOps: Collaborate with DevOps teams to ensure smooth deployment and integration of features using Docker and CI/CD pipelines.
* Public Cloud Integration: Deploy and manage frontend components in Public Cloud environments (GCP) to ensure scalability and reliability.
* Testing & Debugging: Implement unit, integration, and end-to-end tests to ensure the stability and reliability of web applications.
Preferred Skills
* Cyber Insurance Knowledge: Familiarity with cyber insurance or risk analytics domains.
* Performance Optimization: Experience with techniques to reduce latency in large-scale web applications.
* Security Awareness: Understanding of web security principles and data privacy regulations.
