Security Manager — Somalia About the role You direct a deployed security operation in Mogadishu and you are the single point of contact between it and the client. The workforce is a close protection capability — protective details, a standby reaction element, and an operations room running movement control and incident response. Your job is to make that organisation work: direct the force, run the operations room and its watch rotation, control movements, respond when something happens, and give the client one person who answers for all of it. You own the rotation and leave cycle, and you are responsible for monitoring fatigue in a force that works every day it is in country. The role is residential — you live on site inside the protected area — and you are available to the client at all times. It is rotational, with structured time out of country between tours. This is a long-term assignment, not a gap-filler. The client expects continuity and so do we. Requirements Two hard requirements, both of which must be evidenced with documents. We cannot put a file forward on self-declared experience. EQF Level 6. A degree of at least three years in security, defence, conflict studies, intelligence or a related field — or a police or military rank formally mapped to EQF 6 or above in your national qualification framework, with the official documentation proving that mapping — or vocational training in security, police, military or law enforcement plus ten years’ relevant experience. Current FPOS-I or equivalent first aid qualification. Certificate required, in date. Experience: minimum ten years professional, of which at least seven in military, law enforcement, security or close protection. Management experience outside your home country and time in crisis environments both weigh heavily. Most applications fail on the first point.
