About the RoleIn this role, you will ensure the reliability, performance, and security of backend services and APIs. You’ll move processes away from manual verification by designing scalable automation frameworks and integrating them directly into deployment pipelines.Core ResponsibilitiesDesign, implement, and maintain scalable test automation frameworks for RESTful and GraphQL APIs.Write clean, maintainable automation scripts using JavaScript/TypeScript or Python alongside tools like Postman, Newman, RestAssured, or Playwright/Cypress.Validate API behaviors, payload structures, status codes, and boundary conditions against technical specifications.Integrate automated API test suites into CI/CD pipelines to enable continuous testing and gate deployments.Execute functional, regression, integration, and performance/load testing on backend services.Work closely with backend engineers using Jira to track defects, analyze root causes, and verify bug fixes prior to production releases.Required Technical Skills3–5 years of professional QA experience with a heavy focus on API Testing.Hands-on proficiency in writing automated tests (not just manual execution) using JavaScript, TypeScript, or Python.Strong experience with Postman (including test scripting), Newman, or automated request libraries.Solid grasp of HTTP protocols, JSON/XML formats, status codes, and auth mechanisms (OAuth, JWT, API Keys).Hands-on experience integrating test scripts into CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Jenkins).Strong database querying skills (SQL or NoSQL) for data validation and test setup/teardown.Working experience in Agile/Scrum environments.🌟 Nice-to-Have Skills:API performance/stress testing experience using JMeter or k6.Experience with Docker for running test environments.Basic understanding of AWS cloud platforms and serverless architecture.
