We’re Hiring: Autodesk Inventor Specialist | Remote ContractorAre you an experienced Mechanical Design / CAD Specialist with strong expertise in Autodesk Inventor, Parametric 3D Modelling, GD&T, and DFM? We’re looking for Autodesk Inventor Specialists to contribute to an advanced mechanical design project focused on training next-generation AI systems. No prior AI experience is required — your engineering expertise is what matters.Role: Autodesk Inventor SpecialistWhat You’ll DoDevelop fully parametric 3D CAD models of mechanical parts and assemblies.Modify and update existing CAD models while maintaining parametric integrity.Audit CAD models for dimensions, tolerances, manufacturability, and design quality.Create and interpret detailed technical drawings using GD&T / ASME Y14.5.Apply Design for Manufacturability (DFM) principles across: Injection Moulding; Sheet Metal; CNC Machining; Casting / ForgingWork on assembly-level and complex mechanical designs.Perform reverse engineering, including scan-to-CAD and point-cloud-to-model workflows.Document design decisions, edits, audits, and technical rationale to support AI training.Communicate technical findings and provide clear, solution-oriented feedback.Required SkillsAutodesk InventorParametric 3D CAD ModellingGD&T / ASME Y14.5Design for Manufacturability (DFM)Technical Drawing InterpretationAssembly-Level DesignCAD Model AuditingReverse Engineering / Scan-to-CADManufacturing Process KnowledgeCAD Automation / Scripting — Python, iLogic, VBA, NX Open, or similarStrong documentation and communication skillsExcellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilityPreferred Qualifications4+ years of hands-on parametric modelling experience for edit-level work.10+ years preferred for complex CAD creation work.Strong Autodesk Inventor expertise.Experience with SolidWorks, Fusion 360, FreeCAD, or similar CAD platforms is a plus.Practical experience applying GD&T in real-world engineering environments.DFM experience across 2–3+ manufacturing processes.Experience with complex assemblies and mechanical systems.Experience with CAD automation or scripting.Why Join?$30–$100/hourFully remote contractor opportunityFlexible working scheduleWork on cutting-edge AI training initiativesCollaborate with experienced engineering teamsNo previous AI experience requiredInterested?
