The Project Manager will work directly with the customer and head office, managing tasks throughout the project life-cycle. The Project Manager will be accountable for meeting the agreed project scope of work, including project schedule and budget. In addition, the project Manager will support the ongoing development and improvement of project management activities, including the stage/gate delivery process and coordination of efforts with our head office.Principal tasksManage all project communications between the client and the Optel teams. Understand the requirements, costs, deadlines and limits of the projectBeing responsible for all project planning and execution required to ensure OPTEL delivers a quality solution on time and within budgetGather critical information when preparing the specifications for a relevant solutionLead or provide strategic guidance for master planning and execution of tasks throughout the delivery processAssess and understand the risks and costs associated with the project, as well as its feasibility and deadlinesBased on customer needs, understand or prepare specifications and quotes (make requests for parts and communicate with original equipment manufacturers, etc.)Monitor the design of the solution with the various stakeholdersFollow up on the various detailed design reviews with the Optel teams and the clientParticipate in regular scheduled project review meetings to ensure tasks, stages and gates are being met in an efficient and timely mannerPrepare, review or approve the various technical documents and the required equipmentEnsure that solution specific test plans are writtenManage customer relationships and escalating project support issues to account managers and senior management as requiredCommunicate project objectives, schedule, budget and roadblocks with cross functional teams at head office, customers, OEMs and other internal and external stakeholders as requiredCommunicate effectively using all forms of communication at all levels of the company and customers, including providing project status reports in a clear, organized and concise mannerBased on design specifications and customer requirements, transmit information to the software, mechanical, IT and documentation teamsProvide support to internal teams and the client to resolve technical problems during the projectRequisite SkillsProject management qualification or a degree in engineering, science or related technical backgroundRelevant technical experience of at least 5 years in a similar fieldExperience within a regulated industry (Pharmaceutical, Medical Device, Automotive, Food and Beverage) is preferredExcellent communication, both oral and written, in EnglishKnowledge of project management tools, techniques, culture or PMI PMP certificationEffective organizational skills with regard to tasks and prioritiesGood judgment regarding the financial, technical and operational aspects of a project; having the insight to offer, or support, a pragmatic and robust solution for a standard projectExcellent team building skills, able to work with various cultures, backgrounds and cross functional teamsBringing a positive team spiritSome travel may be requiredCuriosity and eagerness to learn, especially regarding new technologies such as artificial intelligenceBenefitsCompetitive compensationFlexible working hoursEmployee Assistance Program (EAP)Comprehensive group insurance planA global organization with a presence on several continents
