Responsibilities

Build a B2B marketing function from zero - and keep the numbers. Most marketing internships hand you a content calendar somebody else already built. This one does not exist yet. You will write the first post, run the first keyword study, publish the first case study, and watch what it does to the traffic curve. Everything you build here is yours to show. About us: Melora Connect is association management software (AMS) for small associations and chambers of commerce - organizations under 500 members that have been priced out of or overwhelmed by enterprise platforms. The product is built. You would be our first marketing hire, giving it a voice in the market. What you will do: - Write 2-4 blog posts a month on what association and chamber leaders actually search for: member retention, dues renewals, event ROI, board reporting, migrating off a legacy platform. - Own SEO from the ground up: keyword research, on-page optimization, internal linking, meta and schema work. No existing program to inherit - you build it, and you can point at the before-and-after afterward. - Run social, LinkedIn first, because that is where executive directors and chamber presidents are. - Sharpen our positioning against larger competitors: purpose-built for small organizations, real humans behind it, event expertise most AMS vendors do not have. - Build the content library: case studies, one-pagers, landing page copy, email sequences, comparison pages. Your first 90 days: - Weeks 1-2: learn the buyer. Sit in on customer conversations, read the competitor pages, pick the ten keywords worth owning. - Weeks 3-6: publish. Three to four posts live, on-page SEO in place, LinkedIn running weekly. - Weeks 7-12: measure and double down. First traffic report, first case study, and a written conversion review at three months. The terms, plainly: this role is unpaid for the first three to six months while we go to market. As we bring on customers it becomes a paid contract, and then a full-time salaried role as revenue supports it. The conversion path is written down and reviewed at three months. We would rather you know that now than after a call. What you get in the meantime: - Published bylines with your name on them - A live SEO program with before-and-after numbers for your portfolio - Direct access to the founder every week, not once a quarter - Structured training through our internal Melora Institute curriculum - A substantive reference, and academic credit paperwork if your program requires it Who we are looking for: you do not need a marketing degree or an agency background. You need to write clearly about subjects you did not already know, some SEO exposure (formal or self-taught), and enough self-direction to work remote and part-time without somebody assigning you a task every morning. Students, recent graduates and career changers into marketing are all encouraged to apply. Conversational English is fine - we care how you write, not where you are from. Applicants worldwide are welcome; some overlap with US Eastern hours helps for weekly calls, but we are flexible. Skills required: content writing, SEO. Nice to have: blogging, copywriting, social media marketing, LinkedIn marketing, keyword research, B2B marketing, HubSpot, Canva.
