Responsibilities

Katherine Kleyman, Esq., P.C. is seeking an experienced Employment Litigation Paralegal to join our dedicated team. We represent employees in serious, high-value matters involving discrimination, retaliation, harassment, wrongful termination, disability accommodation, protected leave, and other workplace harms. Our firm is known for substantial settlements, strong advocacy, and the care and empathy we bring to every client. We do not treat cases like files on a shelf. We give our clients and their cases our full attention because we understand how much is at stake. POSITION DETAILS This is a full-time, W-2, primarily remote position for someone based in New York. Occasional in-person work in Brooklyn may be required. THE ROLE You will work closely with the firm’s attorneys on both pre-litigation and active litigation matters. Your responsibilities will include: • Drafting and revising pleadings, discovery responses, correspondence, and other legal documents • Managing deadlines, filings, service, and case calendars • Organizing evidence and coordinating document productions • Preparing chronologies, exhibits, witness materials, and damages summaries • Supporting depositions, mediations, hearings, and settlement negotiations • Communicating professionally with clients, courts, opposing counsel, and third parties • Maintaining complete and organized case files WHO WILL THRIVE HERE You are organized, proactive, dependable, and proud of producing excellent work. You take ownership of assignments, stay ahead of deadlines, and follow through without needing constant reminders. You notice when a document is missing, a date is inconsistent, or a task has not been completed, and you raise the issue before it becomes a problem. You are comfortable working independently, but you remain responsive, collaborative, and engaged throughout the workday. You exercise sound judgment, ask thoughtful questions, and know when an issue should be brought to an attorney’s attention. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS • At least 4+ years of litigation paralegal experience • A paralegal certificate, paralegal studies degree, or comparable formal training • New York litigation experience • Strong drafting, proofreading, organizational, and case-management skills • Experience with discovery, document productions, court filings, and litigation deadlines • The ability to manage multiple priorities accurately and efficiently • Comfort learning and using legal technology, case-management platforms, and new software PREFERRED EXPERIENCE Employment-law experience is strongly preferred. Familiarity with Clio, Dropbox, Adobe Acrobat, NYSCEF, PACER, and electronic filing systems is helpful. WHY JOIN US This is an opportunity to become part of a growing firm that is deeply committed to both meaningful results and the people behind each case. Our clients often come to us during some of the most difficult periods of their lives. We meet that responsibility with preparation, persistence, empathy, and our full effort. We are looking for someone who wants to be part of that kind of team.
