The Role: Sunflower Technologies is looking for a senior engineer to own the backend and database of Sunflower Technologies X. Our front end is handled in house, so this role centers on the data layer, the APIs, and driving our migration from the legacy system to Postgres/Supabase to completion. You will also be a technical anchor — reviewing code and upholding our quality standards. What You Will Do: ●Design and own our PostgreSQL schema, migrations, indexing, and row-level security (RLS) for a multi-tenant SaaS. ●Build and maintain backend logic and APIs with Supabase (Auth, RLS, Edge Functions in TypeScript/Deno, Realtime, Storage). ●Lead the migration of data and business logic from our legacy .NET / SQL Server system into Postgres/Supabase. ●Integrate the React front end with the Supabase backend. ●Own payment and third-party integrations (e.g., Stripe). ●Review pull requests, enforce test plans, and keep production safe with a staging-first workflow. ●Work in Azure DevOps (cases) and GitHub (repos, pull requests) with a clear, task-based process. Must-Have Skills: ●5+ years building production web applications. ●Deep PostgreSQL: data modeling, migrations, indexing, query optimization, PL/pgSQL, and row-level security. ●Hands-on Supabase (Auth, RLS policies, Edge Functions, Realtime, Storage), or the clear ability to ramp quickly. ●Strong TypeScript / Node and REST API design. ●Git, GitHub, and CI/CD (Azure DevOps a plus). ●Fluent written English and reliable daily overlap with US Eastern hours. Strong Pluses ●Experience migrating from SQL Server to PostgreSQL. ●Ability to read .NET / C# to port legacy business logic. ●Payment integrations (Stripe, Global Payments). ●Multi-tenant SaaS at scale; AWS. ●Working React proficiency to back up the front end when needed.
