About the RoleWe are developing a next-generation autonomous Counter-Unmanned Aerial System (C-UAS) designed to defeat evolving drone threats. Our autonomous airborne C-UAS platform combines advanced flight software, autonomy, sensing technologies, and mission systems to deliver scalable and low-cost operational capabilities.We are seeking a Software Developer - Quality Assurance - to help ensure the performance, stability, and integrity of software across our C-UAS platform program. will design automated testing frameworks, develop validation tools, build simulation environments, and support verification activities that enable safe and reliable system operation.This position combines software engineering, test automation, and systems thinking. You will work closely with software, autonomy, AI/ML, embedded systems, flight test, and systems engineering teams to identify issues early, improve development velocity, and ensure software performs as expected in complex operational environments.The ideal candidate enjoys building tools that improve quality, automating manual processes, and solving challenging technical problems across interconnected hardware and software systems.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and maintaidation tools, and regression test suites for flight software, autonomy systems, embedded applications, and ground control software.Design and support Software-in-the-Loop (SIL), Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL), and simulation environments used to validate system performance and reliability.Execute software verification and validation activities across unit, integration, system, and operational test environments.Collaborate with software engineers to identify, troubleshoot, document, and verify the resolution of software defects and performance issues.Analyze telemetry, test results, and operational data to evaluate system behavior and confirm compliance with requirements.Create and maintacedures, validation reports, and traceability documentation supporting software releases and engineering reviews.Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, quality processes, and engineering best practices that improve software reliability while supporting rapid product development.Required QualificationsBachelor's degree tware Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.5+ years of experience t automation, verification and validation, software testing, or software development.Proficiency in Python and experience with one or more programming languages such as C++, C#, Java, or Go.Experience developing automated testing frameworks, test infrastructure, or software validation tools.Understanding of unit, integration, system, regression, and end-to-end testing methodologies.Experience working with/CD pipelines, and Agile development practices.Familiarity with defect tracking and issue management tools such as Jira, GitLab, GitHub, or similar platforms.Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to investigate complex software and system-level issues.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, cross-functional engineering environment.Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Defense Secret Security Clearance.Preferred QualificationsExperience with unmanned aerial systems (UAS), drones, robotics, autonomous systems, aerospace platforms, or defense technologies.Experience validating autonomous, flight-critical, safety-critical, or mission-critical software systems.Experience developing or maintaining SIL, HIL, digital twin, or simulation-based testing environments.Familiarity with PX4, ArduPilot, ROS/ROS2, MAVLink, or other autonomous vehicle frameworks.Experience testing machine learning, computer vision, perception, or sensor fusion applications.Knowledge of embedded systems, real-time software, or edge computing platforms.Experience analyzing telemetry, flight logs, network data, or operational performance data.Understanding of software assurance, systems engineering, or model-based development methodologies.Experience working within a startup, high-growth technology company, or rapid product development environment.Active or previous U.S. Department of Defense Security Clearance.Skills NeededTest Automation DevelopmentSoftware Verification & Validation (V&V)Python ProgrammingQuality Assurance EngineeringContinuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD)Systems Integration TestingHardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) & Software-in-the-Loop (SIL) TestingDefect Analysis & Root Cause InvestigationData Analysis & Test ReportingAgile Software DevelopmentCross-Functional CollaborationProblem Solving & Critical ThinkingWhy Join UsYou'll play a critical role in ensuring the reliability and effectiveness of autonomous aircraft systems operating in real-world environments.
