We are seeking an experienced Technical Team Leader with strong full-stack development expertise in Node.js and Java, combined with proficiency in both RDBMS and NoSQL databases. The candidate should possess a solid grounding in system architecture and a deep understanding of retail or e-commerce systems. This role involves leading a team of developers, defining technical strategies, and driving the successful delivery of scalable software solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of developers, ensuring high-quality code delivery and technical excellence.
- Architect, design, and implement secure and scalable full-stack solutions using Java (Spring Boot) and Node.js (Express or NestJS).
- Collaborate closely with product, architecture, and DevOps teams to define system design, integration patterns, and best practices.
- Oversee the development lifecycle — from requirements and design to deployment and maintenance.
- Manage and optimize databases using RDBMS (MySQL, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB, DynamoDB, Redis) technologies.
- Ensure system reliability, performance, and scalability across cloud and on-premise environments.
- Drive continuous improvement in coding standards, CI/CD processes, and testing frameworks.
- Translate business requirements, especially those within the retail domain, into clear technical solutions.
- Facilitate communication across teams in English and Spanish, fostering collaboration and clarity.
Required Skills and Experience
- 5–8 years of total IT experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership or technical lead capacity.
- Strong expertise in Java (Spring Boot) and Node.js, with good understanding of front-end frameworks (React, Angular, or Vue.js).
- Proficiency in system design, architecture patterns, and microservices development.
- Solid database management and query optimization skills in both RDBMS and NoSQL environments.
- Understanding of cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and containerization tools (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Excellent communication skills in English and Spanish.
- Proven experience in retail, e-commerce, or POS technology ecosystems.
- Strong problem-solving, leadership, and decision-making abilities.
- Experience with event-driven systems and message brokers (Kafka, RabbitMQ).
- Knowledge of API management, security best practices, and performance tuning.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and sprint planning.
