Requirements and responsibilities


Contractor, Long-Term (10-20 hrs/week), Colombia-Based, COT. Objective Own the development of HubSpot integrations that ensure data is accurate, reliable, and transparent. Build integrations that connect HubSpot with external platforms, translating field mappings and business logic into clean, maintainable code. Your work will make data easier to trust and systems easier to scale. Work closely with the Founder and DevOps Engineer to plan, build, and refine solutions that help customers maximize HubSpot, including custom API integrations and workflow actions. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver with deep knowledge of HubSpot’s developer tools who communicates technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical teammates. Requirements * Proven experience developing and maintaining integrations between HubSpot and other platforms, with strong knowledge of HubSpot’s developer tools and APIs. * 4–6+ years in software development, including 2+ years working with HubSpot APIs or developer tools. * Strong Node.js skills for backend development, data synchronization logic, and API communication. * Deep understanding of REST APIs, including authentication, pagination, rate limits, and retries. * Skilled at troubleshooting data and logic issues across systems, from API responses to CRM records. * Strong commitment to security, protecting API keys, OAuth tokens, and PII at every step. * Clear communicator who documents decisions, explains trade-offs, and collaborates effectively. Responsibilities * Build and maintain reliable integrations between HubSpot and external platforms, translating field mappings and requirements into clean, maintainable code. * Develop synchronization logic that keeps data accurate and transparent, including retries, rate-limit handling, error management, and reconciliation methods. * Collaborate with the Founder and DevOps Engineer to plan solutions that balance performance, scalability, and simplicity. * Diagnose and resolve data discrepancies across HubSpot and connected systems to ensure data trust. * Communicate technical decisions and trade-offs clearly to non-technical stakeholders and document all work for easy follow-up. * Consider the larger business systems and workflows to optimize CRM customizations. * Stay up to date with the latest best practices, trends, and development technologies.
