Job SummaryThe Event Manager will be a key member of our team and pivotal in bringing Scholars of Finance's gatherings to life. Your responsibilities will span event strategy, logistics, volunteer leadership, speaker and Corporate Partner coordination, and on-site execution. You will collaborate closely with multiple members of our team, student leaders, donors, and partners to plan and deliver world-class events that advance our vision, mission, and values. We are fortunate to be backed by world-class Founding Partners such as BlackRock, Goldman Sachs, KKR, and U.S. Bank, and are being advised by incredible industry leaders to achieve our mission.What You’ll DoOversee student planning of 8-10 annual regional Leadership Symposia across the United States, ensuring all logistical aspects are organized, including venue selection, speaker recruitment, budgeting, and sponsorshipOrganize and execute a virtual career fair each year with 20+ partners and thousands of studentsCollaborate with student leaders and external partners to develop engaging event agendas and secure high-profile speakersBuild and manage detailed run-of-show plans, timelines, and budgets, and lead flawless on-site execution from setup through teardownManage event timelines and cross-functional coordination, ensuring all stakeholders—including Marketing—are aligned from planning through executionManage vendor, venue, and sponsor relationships, negotiating logistics and resolving issues in real timeAssist in the planning and delivery of fundraising events, and bring together leading executives to fund our mission and programsCapture and apply post-event learnings, tracking attendance, satisfaction, and other success metrics to continuously improve each eventStreamline, consolidate, and optimize all event operations to drive efficiency, leverage, and scaleCoach and motivate student volunteers to assist with Leadership Symposia and local partner eventsEnsure SOF's mission, vision, and values are powerfully brought to life through every event experienceTransformation You’ll DriveElevate SOF's events to make them world-class gatherings that the most prestigious finance leaders and investors in the world will want to attend and invite their friends and colleaguesBuild repeatable, scalable event systems and playbooks that allow SOF to deliver more events, at higher quality, as we growPartner with the CEO, COO, VPs, and the broader team to deliver events that deepen our impact, grow our community, and scale our mission to thousands of universities across the financial industryWhat You’ll NeedFoundational Qualifications3-5+ years of corporate and/or Non-profit event planning experience, showcasing a growth-oriented trajectory, experience with conferences preferred.
